INDUSTRIAL+EXPERIENCE+DESIGN
I’m an industrial designer by background.
Industrial design at its core requires rigorous foundations and an ability to consider the whole, from start to finish, from sketch to reality. But the title industrial designer doesn’t sum up what I do. I therefore define it as
I X D: Industrial Experience Design
Industrial /ɪnˈdʌstrɪəl/ encompasses scale, rigour, and the consideration of form and function, derived from the latin word industria which means diligence and hard work.
Experience /ɛkˈspɪərɪəns/encompasses narratives, experimentation and observation, and the ability to immerse an audience, derived from the latin word experientia which means experimental knowledge or to feel and undergo.
Design /dɪˈzʌɪn/ encompasses the doing aspects, the visuals and vision, generation of creative ideas, and the planning and execution, derived from the latin word designare which means to make, shape, mark out.
Therefore what I do is the large scale envisioning of concepts and the construction of carefully considered and immersive visual stories.
Futurethingy is a brand banner under which I operate as a design consultant and change agent. I can create results that would often require a large team.
I am both consultant and consultancy.
What I’ve done, isn’t what I do. I don’t approach new projects and new challenges with a pre-existing template but rather the confidence in my foundations and process, and ability to take complex ideas and communicate them clearly and effectively. So whether or not I work with you as new or returning client, you will always get something original - and perhaps - something unexpected.
See how I work - and how I can work with you - here.
